Description
Biking Southbound on Spadina, from Queen St to 25th, a driver in a white GM sedan (Oldsmobile Alera, Pontiac Grand Prix, etc...), license plate 845 CKT (this may have been wrong, license plate was dirty) passed as I biked past the Mendel. Driver honked as he was following me, myself in the right hand tire track as any closer to the curb was too icy and unsafe to cycle on. After he passed he sharply cut into my lane, despite no oncoming cars or road hazard.
Driver turned left onto Spadina underneath the bridge, and as I approached Spadina/25th he was turning right onto the bridge. He stopped, opened his window, and gave me the finger.
This seems to be a particularly awkward spot, prior to Queen St there are signs indicating single file, and after the turnoff to Spadina underneath the bridge there is a well defined bike lane to 25th st, but in between these two there are signs indicating drivers and bikes side by side. The problem is there is no well defined bike lane (in the winter would it even be clear anyway), leading people to think I should be on the sidewalk or something? Not sure what the solution is but it seems like this is one of the worst parts of my commute every day.
